New Sermon Series: Connected

As we look at the turmoil and chaos of the world today we may feel powerless and hopeless. Everywhere we look from our own home, to our friends and family, to the world news, it seems like the world is going to hell in a hand basket and there is nothing we can do about it. That is the lie the enemy of our souls would like us to believe, but it’s not true. The author of the work The Kneeling Christian says, “The Devil does not want me to pray, and does all he can to hinder me. He knows that we can accomplish more through prayers than through our work. He would rather have us do anything else than pray.” (107) Through the work of Jesus Christ we can boldly approach the throne of God and help to shape a new reality. The author of Hebrews says, “Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.” (4:16) The prayers of God’s people have the power, through Christ and the Spirit, to change the world and bring healing to the nations.

We will be exploring Prayer for the next 8 Sundays — Let’s become a Prayerfully Powerful People!
