In his letter to the Romans the apostle Paul exclaims “I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of
God that brings salvation to everyone who believes.” Salvation, as we have said so many times before, is not
merely “going to heaven when I die” but is a total transformation of the self into the image of God’s Son. But, there
is a way to be religious without transformation. This is what Paul is referring to when he claims that there are those
who may look like Christians outwardly but they are in fact corrupt inwardly.
