On Mission: Won’t You Be My Neighbor
Who is my neighbour can be an important question to begin the process of embodying Jesus. However, it can also be a defence mechanism. If we define our boundaries then we can place people on the outside of our embodiment of the kingdom. But, Jesus won’t let us do that. Like everything else, he flips things on its head, including the question. Which was a neighbour to the one in need of a neighbour? Instead of a way out, Jesus looks for a way in. If we are going to embody Jesus then we must see all in need of him and us.
