Works of Mercy: “Give Instruction”
Doing good or works of mercy is not only about physical needs—it’s about all needs! Wesley lived at a time when the Church was in spiritual decline and often members lived in open sin. In this context, his merciful duty was to announce and instruct all and sundry with the call of God to be obedient in all things. Not only did he see this as rescuing the apostate, he understood it as delivering his own soul too.
