Works of Mercy: “Hospitality to the Stranger”
We think of hospitality as being graciously welcoming – but it’s much more than that! The writer of Hebrews, the Apostle Paul and even Jesus considered hospitality as ESSENTIAL to the Christian faith; an act of imitating God’s own nature. While we may already find it easy to show hospitality to those close to us, exercising this act of mercy towards strangers and the unlikely is where we are stretched in our own understanding of the love of God and his movement in our world.
