It is significant that the king of Israel—the Lord over all—comes to his city and his people riding a donkey’s colt rather than on a war horse. Let’s face it, Jesus doesn’t meet the usual requirements of a person of great power. Even his own disciples don’t know what this all means until after Jesus’s death. The question becomes, will we receive Jesus as king and go with him to his enthronement on the cross, allowing us to see his true glory?
