Peace Isn’t Passive

Like it or not we are living through a time where issues of continued racism in Canada and the U.S. have come to the fore. The church cannot turn a blind eye to it or simply wish that everyone would just get along. We are the body of Christ, so we are called to live out the truth of the kingdom of God. We are to be ambassadors of reconciliation. But, peace doesn’t mean not talking about the problem. It means working to eliminate the divisions in the body and the world.

Arming for the Struggle

Because the victory has been won we don’t need to fret about the battle. On the other hand our enemy has not stopped fighting and we are still vulnerable. So it is important that we take up the arms we have been given. This is the final key to victory: use the power we’ve been given over the enemy.

Know Your Enemy

Paul assures us that “our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms: (Eph 6:12). Women’s Work

We have recognized that in Christ Jesus there is no distinction between male and female, that God has called us all to be his ministers. However, we have to also recognize that women are at a disadvantage due to a history of being told they cannot enter all places in the church. So, we need to use our power and influence to empower these members of our body to take up the gifts and vocations that God has called them to.

As Christ Loves the Church
